Local youth wanted to change the situation and make a difference in lives of people living in ancient holy land where Gautama spent his childhood and adulthood, by engaging in social development works.

Since of its establishment SSDC, Kapilvastu has been a pioneer organization and having of experiences on advocacy and influencing on the specific sector most likely the movement of landless rights when the organization had implementing the programme in support of Action Aid Nepal. The movement was nation wise and the meeting was done in Kapilvastu. The government of recently, the advocacy on adolescent rights under the programme of SEEDS supported by Stromme Foundation Nepal has also brought the changes in the policies of local government. SSDC has supported to inbuilt the topics of Career Development Plan (CDP) and Family Development Plan (FDP) in the policy of local government.
