Siddhartha Social Development Center (SSDC) was founded in 1995 by dynamic youth aiming to uplift Kapilvastu, Nepal—a district marred by poverty, inequality, and social conflict. Registered under the Organization Registration Act 2034 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in 1996, SSDC addresses these challenges through community empowerment, resource management, and advocacy. Kapilvastu, the ancient kingdom of Buddha’s father, faces developmental struggles, compounded by natural disasters and social unrest. SSDC envisions a just, prosperous, and inclusive society, transcending caste, gender, and ethnic barriers. Its mission includes organizing communities, sensitizing authorities, enabling resource control, and providing essential information. Over 27 years, SSDC has grown into a vibrant organization, making significant impacts through community mobilization, awareness campaigns, capacity building, and sustainable practices. SSDC continues to drive positive change, honoring the region’s heritage while fostering a brighter, equitable future for all its residents.
